Drykids Mattress Sensor Alarm System – The effective treatment for bedwetting

The bedwetting alarm.

The betwetting alarm is the simplest least invasive method, and according to the Royal Childrens hospital and many other medical bodies, the quickest and most effective permanent solution. There are several types of alarms on the market, but they all work to achieve the same result. The alarm is triggered on the bladder being so full that bedwetting occurs, and after several episodes of this the brain begins to associate the full bladder with the need to wake up. This is a behavioural conditioning response, and is a very powerful subconscious process. The fact that the alarm was triggered after the event is irrelevant; the sensation in the bladder alone becomes just as powerful as the loud noise from the alarm to wake up the child.

The treatment is quite simple, and can be effective from anywhere between 2 to 8 weeks, depending on how entrenched the bedwetting patterns are. We all have good and bad days as well, and re-lapsing occurs in a minority of cases. Persistence should pay off, however, and it is important to maintain your child’s confidence throughout the process, and remember that punishing or making fun of your child for wetting the bed will only make the situation worse. Brothers and sisters need to understand this as well.

Whats wrong with the clip on style alarms ?

Nothing at all, if you like going to bed wired up with an alarm on your chest, and wires running down your body to your underpants where a sensor has been inserted into a pantyliner.

This is a sure fire way to put another dint in your child’s self esteem, and is also tricky to set up or undo when they do want to go to the bathroom. It also requires purchasing pullups / pantyliners, which can also send the wrong message to your child. You only need to look at the photos of children trying to relax with these things on to get an idea of the additional stress this induces. The DRYKIDS bedwetting alarm hides discreetly under the sheets, and your child goes to bed and gets up in a natural unhindered manner.
